Coronavirus – Renault closes its Enstone and Viry-Châtillon factories

The Group's sports branch Renault, Renault Sport Racing, is adapting in order to follow the measures of the French and British governments to counter the coronavirus. 

Teleworking was generalized this week for all employees of Viruses-Châtillon (Essonne, engine factory F1) able to implement it. Following the measures taken by the French Government and implemented since Monday evening in France, it was decided by the Management of Renault Sport Racing to organize the closure of the Viry-Châtillon site, starting from Friday March 20 in the evening and until Sunday April 5 inclusive.

In England, the Enstone site (dedicated to the chassis of single-seaters Daniel Ricciardo et Esteban Ocon) will close its doors from Monday March 30 until Sunday April 19 inclusive, in order to also follow the progress of the summer “shutdown” decided by F1, the FIA ​​and the teams.

The press release also mentions a spirit of dialogue with sport stakeholders. “We will now enter a phase of in-depth discussions with F1, the FIA ​​and other teams to define and implement the measures required for our sport in these exceptional circumstances. Faced with the challenges that await us, responsibility and solidarity must prevail in order to contain the impacts of this health crisis. »
