Cosworth, a solution for Aston Martin?

Aston Martin has continued in recent months to show its interest in F1. The British manufacturer could arrive as an engine manufacturer with the future regulations on engines planned for 2021, provided that the governing bodies of the discipline propose a more affordable formula.

This solution could notably involve the removal of the thermal engine-generator (MGU-H) and standardization of certain parts, but the existing engine manufacturers are more cautious about the idea of having to start again on new bases.

Aston Martin could find support with Cosworth, the English engine manufacturer also closely observing the evolution of F1 in order to assess whether a return could be possible.

“Cosworth is one of our key partners on the Valkyrie and we are working closely with them to create a naturally aspirated V12, recalled Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, in AUTOweekly. Expanding this collaboration on an F1 project would make sense and it is a proposal that we would be willing to study. »
