Coulthard left a year too early

After 15 seasons at the highest level and 62 podiums, David Coulthard left his seat at the end of last season and was replaced by Sebastian Vettel, today third in the championship.

“I think I still had enough energy to do another season,” declared DC back in Scotland. “With the new regulations and the ban on testing during the year, the pace becomes slower. I wondered if I could have continued for another year and I'm pretty sure that would be the case. »

Nevertheless, the former pilot Williams, McLaren et Red Bull is not disappointed: “Red Bull offered me interesting alternatives. I remain a consultant for the team and I participate in numerous operations. I am also proud to have participated in the development of the team over the last four seasons. »
