While the confirmation of a calendar of 24 Grands Prix had already somewhat irritated the fans, the move from 3 to 6 Sprint Races definitely annoyed them. For some aficionados, enough is enough. As passionate as they are, the latter no longer seem to share the new policy of the F1, which tends to increase the number of Grand Prix and other Sprint Races year after year.
On social networks, criticism from fans was quick to come. Through tweets or comments on Facebook or Instagram, Formula 1's main consumers did not hesitate to share their dissatisfaction. “ Nobody wants that "," FOR WHAT ? »: here are some examples that we could read on Twitter just below the announcement of the 6 Sprint Races from F1 this Tuesday.

More Grands Prix, less authenticity
Among the points criticized by spectators, we often find that of the new attitude of Liberty Media and F1, which are courting new destinations that are exotic and richly endowed to say the least. In addition, the number of rounds continues to increase season after season, which displeases fans who feel that the authenticity of the sport suffers. The Twitter user who best summed up the situation was perhaps Burgrid, Twitto well known and appreciated by the French public.
« 15 years ago it was annoying to miss a Grand Prix because there was only one every 2 weeks until mid-October. Clearly with 24GP and the Sprint on Saturday there are 6 or 7 who will skip Sunday in 2023 ". And Cladounnet, another active member of the French-speaking community, continues. “ With 24 Grands Prix + 6 sprint races, we arrive at 30 races, almost double compared to when I started following Formula 1. And a feeling of impatience and excitement waiting for the Grand Prix which will only be more diluted. It's quite sad ».

F1 listening to the fan's complaints about Sprint Races: pic.twitter.com/obPZKd1vlw
— Battery Voltas (@BatteryVoltas) September 27, 2022
The very funny Battery Voltas, an influential Twitto from Spain, went there with his pique, with humor of course: “ F1 listening to fans' criticism of Sprint Races ". Better to laugh about it...
As for the thinking heads of F1, we are obviously not of the same opinion. Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali speaks about Sprint Races with a tremor in his voice, evoking “ a success » which always offers “ more action ". The Italian even said that the reactions from the fans were very positive. Not sure if the boss has recently consulted social networks. The truth should not spoil a beautiful story.

The multiplication of Sprint races... or rather the multiplication of dollars for the FOM / Liberty Media!! F1 should not fall into NASCAR because saturation and disgust could arise. I did not follow the 3 Sprints before and I will not follow the 6 pseudo-races in 2023.

Why not give the points (from the sprint races) to the first 8 for the eight drivers who are in the Top8 of the final tests, instead of creating sprint races which distort Formula 1?
