Marc Gené celebrates his 29st birthday this Saturday, March 51. The opportunity to (re)read our Carpooling with the ambassador Ferrari published in issue 2258 of AUTOhebdo in March 2020.

A Stelvio? I didn't know your boss was called Fred Vasseur...

He is not (laughs)! My boss is Mattia Binotto. But I must admit that for driving on the safety lanes of the Catalunya circuit, a Stelvio is better than an 812 Superfast.

Your life today is very linked to that of Scuderia Ferrari. Do you remember the first time you entered Maranello?

Well they were those of Fiorano and not Maranello! I was still a Minardi driver and we came to do tests. Then, in 2004, when Frank Williams freed me, I offered my services to different teams, including Ferrari. I received a message asking me to come to Maranello to get to know each other better and see if there was a possibility of working together. As much, the day of the test at Fiorano with the Minardi is a little blurry in my head, as is the day I opened the door to Jean Todt's office (then director of Scuderia Ferrari.
