CP tech, first supplier of the Halo approved by the FIA

The Halo cockpit protection device will arrive in F1 and F2 this year, and the German company CP tech confirmed this Monday that it had received approval from the FIA ​​for the production of the system.

CP tech, an entity of the Dutch group Nedschroef, will see its productions included in the FIA ​​technical list n° 62 – AFP-Halos according to the FIA ​​8869-2018 standard. The first Halos will be delivered to Formula 1 and Formula 2 teams at the beginning of 2018, then to the Formula E teams for season 5 of the Championship which will begin in the 4th quarter of 2018.

The Halo should in fact be integrated into the new 100% electric championship single-seaters planned for the 2018-2019 season.
