D'Ambrosio: 'I'm ready for F1'

How did these two days of Rookie testing go, particularly today with Renault ?
It's been two great days. The first day of testing with Virgin had already gone very well. Virgin is a young team doing exceptional work and looking forward to a bright future. But the second day of testing with Renault was the icing on the cake.

What differences did you feel between Virgin and Renault?
The Renault team F1 is more experienced and the car is more competitive, we feel the aerodynamic downforce more, which is predominant in F1. This is where the biggest difference between the two cars lies. The Renault is generally healthier but finding the limit remains difficult.

What has been your margin of progress since your first drive in F1?

The margin is enormous! F1 is a unique discipline in the world. It's not enough to know how to ride fast, you also have to know how to adapt to the electronics, which is difficult at first. I had to memorize all the necessary procedures for technical checks, manipulations?

What were the objectives of this test day?
The main objective remains above all the stopwatch. We worked this morning on the development program and this afternoon we focused on the balance of the car. This is a classic program in a day of testing.

Do you think you will be able to land a position as a regular driver in F1 soon?
We are working on it but nothing has been signed yet. Since Friday, I have concentrated on doing as much as possible in my tests before thinking about 2011. But it is certain that a seat next season remains the main objective. I was able to question myself this season in order to evolve towards the future and feel ready for F1.
