D'Ambrosio secures future at Lotus

Jérôme d’Ambrosio saw his hopes diminish as the grid for the 2012 season filled out. The remaining place at HRT was very expensive (we are talking about six million euros and the commitment of Giedo van der Garde, more details here), the Belgian was interested in a position as third driver at Lotus F1 Team and finally joined the stable ofenstone after meeting Eric Boullier.

“This is an exciting new step in my career.”, comments the new recruit of the Lotus F1 Team. “I played a full season in F1 as a starter in a smaller team where I was able to learn a lot. I now have the opportunity to work with one of the leading teams which offers splendid potential for my development. I know I can make an effective contribution with my racing experience. Of course, I would love to compete in more races, but it would be with a top team. Being associated with Lotus F1 Team should be more beneficial, I couldn't pass up this chance. My desire to return to racing motivates me to do the best possible job. »
