Daniel Ricciardo awaits Red Bull rebound in England

In fifteen days, Red Bull passed from the Canadian paradise and the victory of Daniel Ricciardo, his first in F1, in the purgatory of a failed home Grand Prix in Austria. Sebastian Vettel was forced to abandon following problems with the electronic box on the turbo/hybrid V6 Renault, and Daniel Ricciardo only owes a nice overtake at the end of the race to beat the Force India by Nico Hulkenberg for 8th place.

However, despite this real poor performance, Ricciardo believes that his team will be able to return to Silverstone, during the British Grand Prix which will take place on July 6. “We thought we would be faster at Spielberg, and we thought we would at least be in the top 5, or even compete for the podium, but we just didn't have the pace, declares the Australian on the F1 website. This is due to the percentage of turns and straights. As everyone knows, we lose time on the straights and come back on the twisty sections, and there are not many corners on the Red Bull Ring. Another factor is that our opponents seem to have found a little more performance this weekend, and we were not close enough to them in the corners, at least less than before. So, there are several things that need to be worked on. But Silverstone should be a track that suits us better. We have to learn from what happened in Austria, but I think we can fight in the top 5 and try to get back on the podium. »

Ricciardo is currently in 3rd place in the Drivers' championship, 53 points behind Lewis Hamilton still second, 29 units behind his teammate Nico Rosberg.
