Daniel Ricciardo maintains the best time in Barcelona

The second day of Barcelona testing in Catalonia saw Red Bull dominate on all counts. Best cumulative time for the Australian Daniel Ricciardo, established this morning, but also greatest number of laps completed with 143 loops. An almost perfect day for the Milton Keynes team.

The gaps narrowed this Friday with six drivers within less than a second. Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) takes second place 10 thousandths behind Ricciardo ahead of Felipe Massa (Williams), who clearly improved his performance of the morning, and fails 98 thousandths behind the leader. Sergio Pérez (Force India) is ahead Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) who returned to the seat of his W06 Hybrid in the afternoon, after having missed most of the day on Thursday due to illness. The world champion took over from Nico Rosberg (Mercedes), preserved according to his team to be at 100% of his capabilities for tomorrow (The German was indeed suffering from a neck injury yesterday). For his return to action, Hamilton has logged valuable kilometers, with 89 rounds accumulated in four hours.

Fernando Alonso had a day without major problems with McLaren (59 laps), despite the threat of a breakdown on the MP4-30 and the Power Unit Honda after yesterday's problems, and ahead of the Lotus of Jolyon Palmer, reigning GP2 champion. Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) and Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso) who caused the only two interruptions of the day complete the ranking, and just like Pérez and Ricciardo, accumulated 100 laps or more this Friday.

The third day of Catalan testing will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m., and will once again be followed live on our website.
