Daniel Ricciardo cut off in his tracks

The 2014 season of F1 ended this Wednesday with the final tests on the Yas Marina Circuit route in Abu Dhabi. Daniel Ricciardo, third in the championship, and the only driver to have won a Grand Prix in 2014 apart from the two Mercedes W05 Hybrid Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, was able to complete 87 laps before being stopped by a mechanical problem on his Red Bull motor Renault. Despite this setback, the Australian can go on vacation with peace of mind.

“Obviously we were cut off in our momentum and it would have been nice to finish the session, but we had a lot of very productive laps,
admits the driver of the RB10 n°3. There was a bit of work with this year's tires and a bit with next year's, trying to understand how they behave. We also did a lot of things in terms of departures. I felt very good in the car. It’s a good way to end the season. Now it’s over, with a bit of time on my hands and I’m looking forward to 2015.”

Ricciardo will be supported next year by the young Russian Daniil Kvyat, promoted by Red Bull after his rookie year at Toro Rosso, replacing Sebastian Vettel, left towards the Team Ferrari.
