Daniel Ricciardo: “Creating a positive dynamic”

This Sunday, the F1 will regain its rights after an unenviable false start in Australia last March. On the Red Bull Spielberg Ring, the drivers and teams making up the starting grid will want to find a semblance of normality, despite the drastic Covid-19 protocol which will have to be observed.

Faced with a very condensed calendar, the battle at all levels of the peloton should be intense, with the room for maneuver to score points being more limited for the formations. “We will continue our efforts and give everything, because we know that the season will be very fast and shorter than usual, remember Daniel Ricciardo. We want to score points, get our campaign off to a good start and lay a solid foundation to enable us to create a positive dynamic.

I think we made good progress on the car in winter testing. We never know in advance how this will happen, but all the teams are in the same boat. We have a car a little different to what we should have had in Australia, but we'll have the answers next week! We will focus on ourselves.

We know that the heart of the grid will be quite tight, but the objective is to perform better than last year on this circuit and we will see where we are. I will give everything and I am convinced that the whole team will do the same. »

Renault will focus on chassis developments on its R.S.20, bringing to the Red Bull Ring the new features that were initially scheduled for Vietnam, the Netherlands and Spain.
