Daniel Ricciardo: “The second sector should be incredible”

Main asset of the RB13, the chassis of the structure of Milton Keynes should do wonders again this weekend in Hungary on the Hungarian turnstile. With the 2017 regulations, offering highly evolved aerodynamics and larger Pirelli tires than in the past, drivers are rediscovering the circuits as the season progresses.

If the second sector of Silverstone, with in particular the sequence Maggots – Becketts – Chapel had been widely appreciated, Daniel Ricciardo expects the second partial of the Hungaroring to offer a great challenge this year.

« We have a lot more grip this year, it will be a little more fun, explains the Australian. The second sector should be incredible. This is one of my favorite areas in F1. If Sunday is hot, it will definitely be a demanding race. »

Memory of 2014

Three years ago, when the Red Bull tandem-Renault was tackling the switch to turbo/hybrid V6s, Daniel Ricciardo had scored a second victory after Canada, before tripling the lead after returning from the summer break in Belgium.

“Hungary 2014 was a great victory, comments Ricciardo. Of course I love winning but it was a great race. To win, I had to pass Hamilton et Alonso, pretty much the top two, which was cool.

I love this track and have always had success there. I had a few good weekends, even before Formula 1.” The Australian actually won in Budapest in 2010 in FR 3.5 with Tech 1 Racing.
