These developments, announced by South Florida Motorsports (SFM), will allow the Miami International Autodrome (MIA) to host new motorsport competitions as well as private and corporate events throughout the year. These four new tracks, which are added to the one known for the Miami Grand Prix, form inner loops and can be operated without impacting local traffic. They are in fact exclusively on private property and do not cross any public roads.
« It's an exciting time for motorsports fans here in South Florida, said Tom Garfinkel, Associate Director of the Grand Prix de Formula 1 from Miami. Our investment in the facility and construction of the inner loop creates five track configurations worthy of the world’s best drivers and allows us to engage with South Florida’s growing motorsports community while respecting the impact on local residents and businesses. There is a thriving automotive culture here in South Florida and this investment allows us to better serve this growing group of automotive enthusiasts, as well as utilize our campus for more community programming, including education and career opportunities for local youth and students. »
These plans coincide with the announcement that the Ferrari Racing Days will take place on the new Extended Marina Loop from 14-18 May 2025, just two weeks after the next edition of the Miami Grand Prix, which will take place from 2-4 May 2025. It will feature several categories, headlined by the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, as well as Ferrari’s exclusive F1 Clienti, XX Programmes, Sport Prototipi Clienti and Club Competizioni GT programmes.
The new track section was built after Turn 10, heading towards the straight parallel to Snake Creek. Two additional hairpins, just before Turn 17 and after Turn 3, provide alternative layouts for permanent use. In addition to the 19-turn, 5,41-km Grand Prix circuit, the MIA will now feature the Extended Marina Loop (19 turns over 4,52km), the Marina Loop (18 turns over 3,94km), the Extended MIA Loop (13 turns over 2,30km) and the MIA Loop (14 turns over 2,83km). These new configurations will be operational from October 2024.

Will this make this track a little more exciting? It is doubtful since the track dedicated to F1 remains strictly unchanged...
