De Vries promoted to Mercedes reserve driver
At 26 years, Nyck de Vries not quite finished with the Formula 1. The Dutchman, ex-hope of the fold McLaren in the 2010s before coming under the management Mercedes, becomes in 2021 one of the reserve drivers of the Star brand in F1.
The winner of the first race of the 2020 Formula E season in Saudi Arabia was confirmed in this new role on the sidelines of the presentation of the W12 that will be driven Lewis Hamilton et Valtteri Bottas.
The champion of Formula 2 in 2019 joins his teammate in the electrical discipline, Stoffel Vandoorne.
