Bianchi dies: John Booth expresses Manor's grief

As Team Principal of Marussia, John Booth was in the front row to follow the progress of Jules Bianchi. Until that cursed day of October 5, 2014 when the Frenchman had his accident at the Japanese GP. The announcement of the death of Jules caused a strong emotion in the world of motorsport, but the Briton was certainly one of the most affected in the professional entourage.

“Words cannot describe the immense sadness within our team this morning following the loss of Jules. He left an indelible mark on our lives and will always be a part of everything we accomplish and all our efforts moving forward.", commented John Booth in the Manor press release F1 team.

“Jules was a brilliant talent. He was destined to accomplish great things in our discipline. He deserved great success. He was also a magnificent human being who left a lasting impression on the people he met all over the world. They saw, like us, that he was both a very motivated driver and a warm, humble and endearing person who illuminated our garage and our lives”, added the Briton.

“We are really proud to have given Jules the opportunity to prove to the world what he could do in F1. We knew we had an exceptional driver on our hands from the first time he rode for us during pre-season testing in 2013. It was an honor to have been able to call him our driver, our teammate, and of course our friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with the wonderful Bianchi family who have remained strong for Jules over the past nine months. In return, Jules was an absolute value for them”, said John Booth.

John Booth ended his speech by talking about the wonderful support received following this terrible Suzuka accident. “We would like to thank everyone who has supported Jules since his accident in Japan last October. Your kindness was a source of calm for his family and for us, his team. We will be counting on you to continue to provide your support in the coming days and months as we continue to ride for Jules. »

Jules Bianchi remains the only driver to score points for Marussia/Manor F1 Team with his 9th place finish at the 2014 Monaco GP.
