Discover the starting grid for the Abu Dhabi GP

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to open at sunset with 100% front row Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton took his 11th pole of the season in front of his teammate Valtteri Bottas. The next two lines are well ordered, with two Ferraris (Sebastian Vettel 3rd, Kimi Räikkönen 4th) followed by two Red Bulls (Daniel Ricciardo 5th, Max Verstappen 6th).

The French are in the spotlight. Romain Grosjean (Haas) is “best of the others” with his seventh time, ahead of Charles Leclerc (Sauber). Esteban Ocon (Racing Point Force India) will be keen to forget its misadventure in Brazil by starting ninth.

The Renault have the means to score points (Nico Hulkenberg 10th, Carlos Sainz Jr 11th) and above all to secure fourth position in the general Manufacturers' standings ahead of Haas. The American team would have liked Kevin Magnussen do better than the 13th time.

For what looks like his last GP in F1, Fernando Alonso (McLaren) will try to enter the top 10 despite an unconvincing 15th time. Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) will start 17th after mechanical damage at the end of Q1.
