Discover the starting grid for the Japanese GP

Will the Japanese Grand Prix, contested on one of the drivers' favorite circuits (Suzuka), allow Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) to consolidate his lead in the Drivers’ World Championship? Starting from pole position, the Briton is in any case putting all the assets on his side.

He will have at his side Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), which should hardly worry him given the team instructions passed in Russia last week. Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) will only start eighth after going astray during the final minutes of qualifying.

Romain Grosjean (Haas) will be the first Frenchman on the starting grid with the fifth location. He is ahead Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso, 6th), who achieved his best performance in Formula 1, followed by Pierre Gasly (7e).

Esteban Ocon (Racing Point Force India) was penalized three places for not slowing down sufficiently during a red flag procedure in FP3. He will start 11th, behind Charles Leclerc (Sauber).

The Japanese Grand Prix will start at 7:10 a.m. French time and can be followed on our site with live text.
