Disappointed Vettel doesn't think Hamilton 'was unbeatable'

The frustrating weekend continues for Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). A day after hitting the wall in Free Practice 2, the German once again showed his bad days after qualifying in Singapore.

Indeed, his best lap did not allow him to get on the first row. Even worse, he was six tenths behind pole sitter Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)! « The gap with Lewis doesn't worry me, I don't think it proves how strong we are, he counterbalances. It’s just disappointing that we didn’t get the full potential out of the car. »

Author of a remarkable pole last year on these same places, Sebastian Vettel clearly expected to do better than a third time. “We were hoping for more. Congratulations to Lewis, but I don't think he was unbeatable. »

But to overcome the Englishman, it would surely have been necessary to have a session without a hitch... “It was difficult to get into the rhythm, and I struggled from Q1 to Q3 to Q2. Other people have done a better job than us. »

Would the four-time world champion become bitter? “I don’t want to take anything away from Lewis’s turn, but it is clear that we could have done better. There’s not much point in going into details…” Perhaps we will have to delve into these same details to catch up with the situation in the race, if he wishes to reduce his delay by 30 points on Lewis Hamilton.
