Changes pay off for Verstappen

Outstripped by Daniel Ricciardo in Italy and Singapore in the exercise of qualifications, Max Verstappen managed to regain the advantage over his teammate at Red Bull Racing during the session held this Saturday on the Sepang track in Malaysia.

The winner of the Spanish Grand Prix admitted after qualifying that he had worked a lot with his team after the Marina Bay event in order to find solutions to achieve greater performance. “After Singapore I spoke with the team and we changed some things on the car and it seems to work, recognizes Verstappen.

We hope to be able to continue to progress in this way. We've made some changes to the clutch and we'll see if it's improved tomorrow, but so far everything looks positive. The settings are ideal for the Sepang track and we will check everything this evening to make sure we are in the best possible position for the race. »

As Red Bull has been doing for several events, a set of soft tires was saved by Ricciardo and Verstappen (the latter having put on the game, but without completing a fast lap with it). The Milton Keynes team thus retains an additional strategic option depending on the progress of the race.
