Developments that do not give satisfaction at Ferrari

Si Charles Leclerc had signed a happy second place last Sunday in Austria, the Monegasque and the team Ferrari knew that the pure performance of the SF1000 was not at the expected level, with competition Mercedes - Red Bull much faster.

An inventory which had led the Scuderia to bring forward the salvo of aerodynamic developments previously expected for the third meeting of the season in Hungary.

But it is clear that the SF1000s were unable to climb to the top positions on the grid, with Charles Leclerc eliminated in Q2 when Sebastian Vettel could not do better than 10th.

“We have worked very hard to bring updates to the car ahead of schedule, but they did not show their value on the track, admits Mattia Binotto, head of Ferrari Sports Management.

We need to understand why and change this situation, which is simply not good enough for a team like Ferrari. We must not get upset, but we cannot ignore the facts. »

“There is certainly work to be done, describes Charles Leclerc for his part. In terms of balance, the car is pleasant to drive in the dry and in the wet it is very similar. But yes, we have problems here and there that we need to resolve. »

It will undoubtedly take very favorable circumstances for Scuderia Ferrari to repeat a possible podium this Sunday from 15:10 p.m., a race which will be followed live on our website via our live-text.
