Varied fields for the first edition of the Castellet Motors Cup

Subscribers to the Paul-Ricard circuit (Var) will be delighted the weekend of March 30-31. The HVM Racing organization, already in charge of the Historic Tour, set up the Castellet Motors Cup on the version F1 of the 5,8 km long Var circuit.

Before participating in the historic French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours (Nièvre, June 28-30), Formula 1 cars from the 1970s and 1980s will delight the ears of spectators. Around twenty single-seaters will compete in the FIA Masters Historic Formula One field, with two races of 25 minutes each.

This will be an opportunity to review the first carbon chassis created by McLaren, the MP4/, or the McLaren M29, the one which allowed Alain Prost to start in F1. The Ligier JS11 and JS11/15 of Jacques Laffite, Patrick Depailler and Didier Pironi will also be there, as will the Brabham BT49 of Nelson Piquet, the Williams FW07C by Alan Jones and Keke Rosberg.

The second category to follow will be theEndurance Legends. In the middle of several LM P2s, it will be possible to find a Aston Martin GT9 DBR1, a Lola Aston DBR1-2 as well as a rare Aston Martin AMR1 from Group C from the end of the 80's. This will be partly led by Nicolas Minassian.

Drivers still active are there such as Soheil Ayari on a Ligier JS/3 and Stéphane Richelmi on a Porsche RSR with his father Jean-Pierre Richelmi in the Sports Car field. More reasonable cars are finally invited, in the pre-66 GT and pre-66 Touring Cars category.

Unfortunately, this event is reserved for Paul-Ricard circuit subscribers, and will not be open to the public.
