Scuderia Ferrari made its real comeback yesterday at Mugello with the SF71H entrusted to Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.

Two Grand Prix distances for Ferrari at Mugello

This time he was clearly back for the Team Ferrari. After having “awakened” Maranello with the SF1000 last week, Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel, were able to return to the track yesterday at Mugello in Italy with the 71 SF2018H.

Vettel in the morning then Leclerc in the afternoon were each able to complete a Grand Prix distance and refamiliarize themselves with the environment of the seat and the circuits.

The opportunity also for the Scuderia to accustom its staff to the new Covid-19 protocol, which will be implemented from the Austrian Grand Prix at the beginning of July for the real start of the 2020 season. The organization of the boxes has been revised in particular to allow physical distances to be respected as much as possible.

 

 

Both Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel were able to find a track on which they had already played a few years ago. “It was great to get the feeling of a car again and to do it on such a spectacular track, believes the German.

I really think that Mugello deserves to host a Grand Prix of Formula 1. I hadn't driven there for eight years, so it took me a few laps to get used to the track and then I really had fun. »

It is up to Ferrari and its drivers to now successfully return to school in July, for a season which will be the last for Sebastian Vettel in red before the arrival in 2021 of Carlos Sainz.
