Di Montezemolo: “Ferrari would have won with Hamilton”

La Team Would Ferrari have been able to win the title this year? This is in any case the opinion of the former president of the Prancing Horse Luca di Montezemolo who believes that the Italian team would have won the coronation with Lewis Hamilton en lieu and in place of Sebastian Vettel.

“Hamilton made the difference this year by having its best season since its debut, the Italian businessman told Rai radio. He had moments of weakness, but he would have been able to win with Ferrari this year. I don't say this to denigrate Vettel. »

Luca di Montezemolo also admitted that Scuderia Ferrari had failed to optimize its car throughout the season.

"Ferrari made a good car which was sometimes better than the Mercedes, but the last elements were missing. Vettel made decisive mistakes, but you have to do everything to pull him over when you are fighting for a title. He is a top driver who is always close to the team. He must be supported in frustrating times, even more so with the arrival of a strong boy destined for a great future (Charles Leclerc) ", added Luca di Montezemolo.

Scuderia Ferrari has not won a title since 2008 with the Constructors' crown.
