Di Resta will not replace Liuzzi

Rumors about his replacement started at the Chinese Grand Prix where Liuzzi made a poor qualifying. The Italian must deal with a more efficient teammate who has double the points after six Grand Prix and an efficient and constant reserve driver. But after entering the points in the last two races in Spain and Monaco, Liuzzi sees his place a little more secure.

« I never cared about these rumors ", said the Force India driver on ESPN F1. " Rumors are an integral part of F1 and they are normal in a high-level sport like this. I have a two-year contract with Force India, they trust me and I trust them, so our relations are good. They know the problems I encountered in China and Spain. In addition, I scored points in the first two races as well as in Monaco. They see that I fight to obtain results ».

The director of operations at Force India, Otmar Szafnauer, confirmed last week that Force India did not intend to replace their starting driver with di Resta. “ We continue to fully trust Liuzzi “, he said last week. “ There was never any question at Force India of replacing him with Paul (di Resta) ».

Liuzzi also confirmed that the team was able to resolve the problems that the Italian encountered at the start of the season. “ The good news is that we were able to resolve a lot of issues for the Monaco Grand Prix, notably regarding weight distribution and the lack of grip from which I suffered until now “, he said after the race. “ I will confidently leave for Turkey in two weeks. In addition, it?s another circuit that I like and we should perform well ».

However, Liuzzi was never able to finish ahead of Sutil when the latter finished his races. The Italian will therefore surely want to finish ahead of his teammate in Turkey, now that the main problems of his car seem resolved.
