Di Resta replaces Massa at Hungarian GP

Paul di Resta will compete in a Grand Prix for the first time since the 2013 Brazilian GP where he defended the colors of Force India. The reserve pilot of Williams GP will replace Felipe Massa at the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend, notably competing in qualifying which will be held this Saturday July 29 from 14 p.m.

Felipe Massa will give up his place due to his health. The Brazilian felt ill yesterday during the second test session held at the Hungaroring in Budapest. The Brazilian underwent examinations at the MH EK Honvedkorhaz hospital and was declared fit to take part in the last practice session held this morning at the end of which he set the 17th time with a tenth ahead of his teammate. Lance stroll by completing only 12 laps. The Williams driver felt unwell again and made the decision to withdraw from the rest of the weekend.

"I'm both nervous and impatient, said Paul di Resta on Sky Sports where he has the role of consultant. I dive into the unknown. It’s a difficult little circuit that requires commitment and confidence. You have to do the best job possible. I shouldn't put pressure on myself. Even if I had gotten behind the wheel this morning, it would have only been with a full tank and testing just one set of tires. »

Paul di Resta will thus make his 59th Grand Prix start without ever having driven the Williams FW40. The reservist always evolves as a starter in DTM with Mercedes.
