Di Resta wants to finish the season like in 2011

For his second year in Formula 1, Paul di Resta has already scored as many points as in 2011. However, the 2010 champion of DTM is not satisfied with his start to the season, he who hoped to reach the podium after finishing the previous season on a high, narrowly missing fifth place in the constructors' championship with Force India. He hopes that the second part of the season will be much more prolific, in order to return to Williams in the general classification.

« There is still a long way to go in the championship and we need to score points regularly, explains di Resta. Last year we finished the season well and we need to do the same this year. Williams is not too far ahead of us, but Sauber has built up a nice lead and it will be difficult to overcome. But we will not give up. We'll keep pushing and see what we can do. We have the potential to achieve good results before the end of the season. »

Eleventh last year for his first on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit last year, the Scot believes that the Belgian track is the ideal place to resume the season. “ It's one of the best circuits in the world and it's always special to go back there, He explains. I've never had the chance to race on this track in my career, so it's nice to be able to go there and experience the impressive range of corners behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car. »

Paul di Resta took advantage of a five-week summer break to recharge his batteries before heading to the end of the season. “ I think the summer break was good for everyone. I spent time at home, saw my friends, watched the Olympics and continued my training. The next few months will surely be the busiest of the year with lots of long-distance races, so it was important to relax. »
