For several weeks, Christian Horner has been proclaiming that he wants to see Mark Webber extend his contract. But the Australian does not seem to be in a hurry, especially after last Sunday's team instructions. But for Dietrich Mateschitz, the big boss of Red Bull, there is no doubt, Webber will stay.
“Mark Webber will re-sign with us, he declared to our colleagues at AUTOSPORT. It's going to happen, that's for sure. He is very popular within the team, he feels good there, and the relationship is excellent (between the two parties). He knows it, and we know it. For Mark, there is no better choice than going for the best car. And for us, there is no better choice than choosing a fast driver. »
Dietrich Mateschitz also admitted that Mark Webber "would have been a very bad competitor if he hadn't tried to attack (Hag, editor's note) to gain a position » last Sunday at Silverstone. Webber's choice not to listen to the instructions does not seem to have caused too much of a stir among the world champions.
