Broadcasters: A new challenge for Red Bull

Red Bull had a magnificent season by winning the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles for the second time in a row. His performance can be attributed to a surprising Sebastian Vettel, helped by an RB7 developed around blown diffuser technology. But Milton Keynes will have to turn to other tips for the car of 2012, the FIA having banned the use of blower exhausts for the next season. If the other teams copied this system, the Taureau Rouge was the first to exploit it.

Adrian Newey, the designer of the RB7, recognizes that this ban forces engineers to look for other tips to design a high-performance single-seater and that doubt remains about whether Red Bull will maintain its supremacy. “We will not have any big differences in regulations except for the position of the exhausts, which we have pioneered in recent years”, commented the technical director on Sky Sport News. “Given that the car was designed around that, we will have to review our copy and think about where we can optimize the car again. It's difficult to know if the gap will be reduced at the Championship because everyone has done a good job copying us, especially McLaren. We will have to wait for the first tests and the first race to see who worked best. »
