The double world champion F1 led 64 of the 67 laps of the German Grand Prix before climbing to the top of the podium for the 30th time in his career. Thanks to this victory, the Spanish driver now has a 34-point lead over Australian Mark Webber. According to Domenicali, Alonso is playing in a class of its own this year.
« He completed a 67-lap qualifying stint! I don't remember seeing such a close race from start to finish, explains Domenicali. Fernando was perfect: no mistakes, no hesitation, attacking at his maximum for over an hour and a half. What a pilot! We know we still have a lot of work to do because we are not the fastest. We have seen how quickly things are changing this year and we must not let up. »
