Domenicali: Ferrari must improve everywhere

After two Grands Prix, the Team Ferrari struggles to convince since no F14 T finished on the podium despite two 4th places taken by Fernando Alonso. Mercedes AMG F1 confirmed the predictions which saw it as the most advanced team at the start of the year and Red Bull Racing seems to be quickly regaining its footing after a difficult winter. Although the season is only just beginning, the Prancing Horse is already under pressure.

“Mercedes has been the best in terms of performance and that’s who we are targeting now. We have only done two races so far and judgments must be taken with a grain of salt. You have to remember that everyone thought Red Bull was finished after winter testing”, underlines Stefano Domenicali, Team Principal of the Scuderia. “But we are weak in all sectors. I don't think you can improve overall performance by fixing a specific problem. We need to get a car more efficient, a better engine, a better balance between electric motorization and the traditional motor…”

Stefano Domenicali is also carefully observing the evolution of his two drivers. After the first two races, Fernando Alonso took the advantage over his teammate Kimi Räikkönen who lacked success last weekend at Sepang. “My only concern, or should I say my only concern, is to make sure we give them the best car we can. This is an urgent necessity that must happen very quickly. Fernando showed that he was immediately fast while Kimi needs some adaptation although we can see that he is in the game. I'm sure there won't be any problems with the drivers. »
