I would even say that Doohan is deliberately sacked by Alpine, because not letting him run in FP1 was the worst thing to do. Or the best way to condemn him. The decision has probably already been made to replace him, but since the exit clauses must be linked to repeated poor performances, we're helping him a little with that. Pretty disgusting, but not surprising from Briatore.

A Grand Prix finished after Oakes had really charged him the day before after his accident, one less reserve driver (because Brille A Tort, absent at Suzuka, at the same time sold Ryō Hirakawa to Haas) and 2 Grand Prix in a row. After Jeddah, if he hasn't managed to perform better, I bet that Il Magnifico Flavio will drop him off for Miami ... a very popular holiday destination for wealthy South Americans and in particular Argentinians who like to spend a long weekend there from Buenos Aires!
