Ferrari double in EL2 at Interlagos

The Interlagos circuit was still tricky in places during Free Practice 2 of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Robert Kubica, who had to give up his place to the reservist Williams Nicholas latifi in the morning, paid the price from his first flying lap.

The Pole was the victim of an off-track exit at the Senna Esses and crashed his FW42 against the safety barriers, fortunately without injury for the Krakow native.

After a brief interruption, the session was able to resume and the times logically fell as the laps passed and the track conditions improved.

Finally, Sebastian Vettel, who is competing in his 100th Grand Prix under the colors Ferrari this weekend, takes the best time from Friday with a time of 1'09''217. The four-time German world champion precedes his teammate Charles Leclerc of 21 small thousandths. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) are in ambush 0”134 and 0”156 behind Vettel respectively.

After not having signed a single timed lap in EL1, Lewis Hamilton must be satisfied with the 5th time in the afternoon. Six-time world champion Mercedes ahead of a surprise Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault), and Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo), who we hadn't seen at such a party for a long time.

Author of the best time in EL1, Alexander albon fell to 9th place during the second session of the day. The Thai had damaged his RB15 at the end of the first runs of the Paulista weekend. Carlos Sainz completes the Top 10 for McLaren

French side, Pierre Gasly had to shorten his session, obviously due to an engine problem. The Normand is in 12th place, while Romain Grosjean signs a discreet 16th time for Haas.

Once again, the session was shortened by a few minutes after Daniil Kvyat went off the track (Toro Rosso) at the Junção bend, the same one that had trapped Albon in the morning.
