Positive according to Daniel Ricciardo

After a complicated start to the season in Melbourne a fortnight ago, with a lack of performance partly due to the Power Unit Renault, Daniel Ricciardo believes that notable improvements have been visible since the start of free testing in Malaysia.

“There are some positives and for most of the riding flexibility issues we had in Melbourne, it's a lot better now. The car was much nicer to drive. We worked on the settings this morning then we had some problems this afternoon which limited our driving. But there are some positive points and we had some good feedback from Dany (Kvyat): he was not too far from the pace of the Ferrari which is encouraging for tomorrow. We are seeing improvements. If I see rain before qualifying tomorrow, I'll probably have a little smile! » declares the Australian.

Note that Christian Horner and Cyril Abiteboul met at a press conference today after free practice, relations between the quadruple world champion team and the French engine manufacturer being rather tense since Melbourne, as you can discover in our file in issue 2004 of AUTOhebdo, still available in digital version and on newsstands.
