A spectacle, but a mixed result for Ferrari

Three-seater fights with the Red Bull RB10 Sebastian Vettel, a final overrun ofAlonso on Ricciardo for 5th place? THE Ferrari took part in several lively battles during the German Grand Prix on Sunday, but only brought home 10 points in the Manufacturers' standings. A mixed result which allows Williams to take 3rd place thanks to the new podium of Valtteri Bottas, second behind the winner Nico Rosberg (Mercedes).

“We did what we could today and although, as always, we were aiming for a podium place, the cars in front of us were just too fast
, indicates Fernando Alonso. It was a good race. We decided to change our strategy from two to three stops. The fights were not easy while keeping an eye on consumption and in the end, with the help of new tires, I managed to pass Ricciardo and we finished in the best possible position. Here at Hockenheim we have taken a small step forward and even if it doesn't translate into lap times, it encourages us to continue improving. We are focused on Budapest now. »

For his part, Kimi Räikkönen was slowed down by several contacts, notably during the clash with Alonso and Vettel. “My front wing was damaged, and that compromised my race, Iceman explains. However, on new tires it was fine. I was also able to drive the car the way I like. We could have easily aimed for points. »
