Albon-Gasly duel for the second Red Bull seat, according to Marko

Since the last Hungarian Grand Prix and the guarantees offered by Helmut Marko regarding the future of Pierre Gasly in Red Bull Racing in 2019, we take each of the good doctor's media outings with a pinch of salt. 

The latest suggests that Daniil Kvyat, who is making a convincing comeback in F1 this season with Toro Rosso, has already been confirmed internally in the Red Bull junior team for the 2020 season. 

There would therefore remain two seats to be filled in the galaxy of the red bull – one within the flagship of Milton Keynes, the other with the small squadra of Faenza – and as many candidates: the current holder Red Bull Alexander albon and Gasly, his predecessor demoted last summer.

« We will make our decision after the Mexican Grand Prix, affirmed Marko at the microphone of Sky Sports F1. Kvyat has already been confirmed for next season (at Toro Rosso), the situation is clear internally at least. It will therefore be played between Gasly and Albon (for the second Red Bull seat)”. 

Christian Horner affirmed at the start of the weekend in Singapore that Red Bull had so far been “ very impressed » by the performances of the Thai rookie since his summer promotion. There are still a few opportunities left for Gasly to change the minds of the powerhouses of the energy can, if possible.
