Ecclestone calls Senna's death positive

Bernie Ecclestone, representative of the commercial rights holders of the Formula 1, is skilled at negotiating contracts but also at making very embarrassing statements. Three months after praising dictatorial management like Adolf Hitler (see elsewhere), the CVC representative returned to the death of Ayrton Senna. For Mister E, the accident and death of the three-time world champion did F1 a favor.

« It was a misfortune but the publicity generated was so good for F1? » Ecclestone commented in Brazilian media. “ It was sad to lose Ayrton for this to happen.
