Ecclestone: Pilots should not speak

Bernie Ecclestone reacted with virulence to criticism from drivers about the current situation of the F1 represented in the open letter from the GPDA (Grand Prix Drivers Association). If the competitors know how to use wooden language on the policy of the discipline, they have notably expressed themselves unfavorably regarding the implementation of the new qualifications.

The director of the FOM did not appreciate these comments and reacted with the provocation he is known for. “Apart from making money in the sport, what are the other interests for drivers? », asked the F1 financier in the paddock of the Bahrain Grand Prix. “I’ve never seen them invest a dollar. They don't even pay the bill when you go to a restaurant with them. They should not be allowed to speak. They should just drive. »

The teams will meet to discuss the new qualifying format this Thursday, April 7.
