EL1: Alonso continues his march

After his victory at the British GP, Fernando Alonso wants to prove that Ferrari will have to be counted on. The Asturian is ahead of the two Red Bull drivers at the end of the first free practice session.

Shod with soft tires, Fernando Alonso set the best time in the first free practice session. The pilot of the Team completed the lap of the Nürburgring circuit in 1, ahead of Mark Webber's RB31 by 894. Sebastian Vettel is lying in wait in third place (+0??374).

Felipe Massa (Ferrari) occupies fourth position, 0??787 behind his teammate. The Brazilian places himself in front Lewis Hamilton (+1??102) and Jenson Button (+1??734). Nico Rosberg (Mercedes GP) is seventh at 1 ahead of Adrian Sutil (Force India), Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) and Michael Schumacher (Mercedes GP).

Nick Heidfeld (Lotus-Renault GP) was testing the blower exhausts placed at the rear. The German set the 15th fastest time of the session, while his teammate Vitaly Petrov set the 11th fastest time.

The second free practice session will take place from 14 p.m.
