EL1: Bottas dominates, the Haas at a standstill

A nightmarish start to the weekend for Haas, and the engines Ferrari in general. Kevin Magnussen et Romain Grosjean, the two drivers of the American team, were unable to set a single time during the first practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. After a few minutes, the Haas experienced engine problems. The team cannot do anything other than change it. Result, blank session for Haas, already in great difficulty this season.

Antonio Giovinazzi, another driver to have a Ferrari engine on his Alfa Romeo, also did not achieve any time. Scuderia Ferrari was able to race, but without much success. Charles Lerclerc and Sebastian Vettel sign the 14th and 15th beats respectively, leaving behind only the Williams.

Up front, the teams have chosen to do numerous aerodynamic tests, since we are heading into two very fast weeks of Grand Prix, with Monza next weekend. The times got crazy thirty minutes before the end of the session. In this little game, Valtteri Bottas was the fastest in 1’44”493, 69 thousandths ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton and only 81 thousandths ahead Max Verstappen.

Once again, the Racing Points will be one to watch and could tickle the leaders. Sergio Pérez finished 136 thousandths behind. The fantastic four of the weekend?

Behind, if the gaps remain thin, there is a little more space. Lance stroll ends 375 thousandths ahead of the Red Bull byAlexander albon the Renault and McLaren share the rest of the top 10 ahead of the two Alpha Tauris. The first eleven stand in a pile for one second.
