EL2: Lewis Hamilton takes over Red Bull

Lewis Hamilton ends Friday's test day in Sao Paulo credited with the best time of the day. The McLaren driver is almost two tenths ahead of the Red Bull drivers.

The racing strategies have been studied at length today by the top teams in order to put the best chances on their side to end the season on a positive note. In the free spin game, it is Lewis Hamilton who achieved the best time of the day by completing the lap of the Interlagos circuit in 1:13:392. The pilots Red Bull remain in the game since Sebastian Vettel is 0??167 behind when his teammate Mark Webber fails at 0??195.

The gaps remain tight since Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) is only 0??206 from the reference time, followed by Michael Schumacher (+ 0??331) and Felipe Massa (+ 0??358). Jenson Button (McLaren) only finished in 7th place at 0??395 after having completed only a few laps on soft tires. Nico Rosberg (+0??480), Adrian Sutil (+0??752) and Paul di Resta (+1??415) complete the top ten.

The final free practice session will take place tomorrow from 14 p.m. and will be followed by qualifying at 17 p.m.
