FP2: Webber takes the lead over Alonso

Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) was still leading the free practice, but it was ultimately Mark Webber (Red Bull) who is credited with the best time of the day, setting a time of 1:31:711. The Asturian, who finished 0??103 behind the first RB7, proved that the F150° Italia remained efficient against the RB7s without the limitation of the blowing exhausts by placing himself between the two Red Bull drivers.

Sebastian Vettel finished 0??373 behind his teammate. The Championship leader precedes the Ferrari of Felipe Massa (+0??643), Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg (Mercedes GP) being in ambush in fifth and sixth place respectively. Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), Nick Heidfeld, Vitaly Petrov (Lotus-Renault GP) and Adrian Sutil (Force India) complete the top ten.

Jenson Button (Mclaren) and Daniel Ricciardo (HRT) ended their session prematurely. The Briton returned to the pits following problems noted with the experimental exhausts installed on his MP4-26, while the F111 forced the Australian to pull to the side at the start of the session.

The last free practice session will take place tomorrow morning from 11 a.m. before the qualifying session which will take place from 14 p.m.
