EL3: Hamilton ahead of Ocon’s Renault!

Although the duration of free practice 3 is officially one hour, the cars only drove for around fifteen minutes. Just enough time to do two quick laps. The cause was a light intermittent rain which, without really wetting the circuit, disrupted the track conditions.

With 20 minutes to go, there was no one left to rev the engine. At the very end of the session, all the teams were looking at each other, ready to go out. None wanted to go there first to experience the track conditions.

The cars finally came out 8mn30 from the goal for a final flying lap. In qualifying mode, everyone on soft tires.

At this game, Lewis Hamilton achieved the best time in 1’43”255, two tenths ahead of the Renault byEsteban Ocon. The Frenchman made maximum use of the straight line potential of his car, which is set up with very little downforce. Certainly, he lost a lot of time in the second winding sector, but he slammed the record in the first and third sectors.

Lando Norris completes the podium three tenths in his McLaren and Alex Albon finished fourth in the Red Bull to four tenths. Behind them, Valtteri Bottas missed his flying lap due to a slip coming out of La Source. Max Verstappen for his part suffered from traffic and could not really improve his time, sixth in front Daniel Ricciardo.

The Racing Points are not at the party, since Lance stroll and Sergio Pérez finished hitth and tenth. If their boss was confident about qualifying, the special conditions this weekend at Spa could play tricks on them. Pierre Gasly ends in their exhausts.

When it comes to Ferraris, do we really need to talk about them? This would hurt the fans of the Team… The Reds are completely stopped. Even at maximum attack, Sebastian Vettel achieved the last time! His teammate Charles Leclerc doesn't do much better, 17th.

Qualifying at 15 p.m. promises to be tense with the risk of showers. Choosing the right settings and strategy will be difficult.
