EL3 – Hamilton still ahead, Norris is getting closer

The sessions follow one another and are repeated, like the film “Un jour sans fin”. THE Mercedes once again easily dominated the final practice session before qualifying for the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix of the F1 at Silverstone (Great Britain) this Saturday August 8.

Lewis Hamilton achieved the best time while his teammate Valtteri Bottas achieved the second time, 163 thousandths behind the championship leader. After Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo, third place is occupied by the McLaren de Lando Norris, more than half a second from his compatriot.

Sergio Pérez's replacement at Racing Point, Nico Hülkenberg, continues to lap faster than his Canadian teammate Lance stroll (4th and 5th). With a new power unit at his back, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) ahead of a Max Verstappen embarrassed in his flying lap (6th and 7th).

Esteban Ocon (Renault) has largely gained the upper hand over his colleague Daniel Ricciardo. The latter completed the lowest number of laps this morning. Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) continues a regular weekend with the 11th fastest time, while Romain Grosjean (Haas) is 15th.

The ranking is closed by Williams and Alfa Romeo, as well as Kevin Magnussen (Haas). The qualifying session will begin at 15 p.m. French time and can be followed on AUTOhebdo.fr with our live text!
