EL3 in Sakhir: Leclerc takes another Ferrari double

Misleading or not, the advantage of Ferrari was confirmed at the start of the afternoon on the Sakhir route. At the end of a session that was rarely representative because it was contested during the day, it was Charles Leclerc who sets the best time in the last free runs of the weekend.

The Monegasque, already author of the reference time in EL1, crosses the line in a time of 1'29''569 and precedes his teammate Sebastian Vettel of 0''169. Not content with winning Sakhir's three free sessions, Ferrari won the double each time.

Perhaps they haven't been sharpened yet, but the Silver Arrows point at seven and eight tenths with Lewis Hamilton 3th and Valtteri Bottas 4th. Great performance from Romain Grosjean, who hoists his VF-19 to 5th place, just ahead of a Nico Hulkenberg still helping at the wheel of the Renault RS19 when his teammate Daniel Ricciardo is languishing in 16th position.

McLaren places his two MCL34s in the Top 10 with the rookie's 7th place Lando Norris and the 9th of Carlos Sainz. Between them slips the highest ranked of Red Bull, that of Max Verstappen. Daniil Kvyat enters the Top 10 for the third time this weekend at the wheel of his Toro Rosso with a Honda engine and completes the first half of the table.

New discreet session for Pierre Gasly, who must be satisfied with the 12th time, between theAlfa Romeo by Kimi Räikkönen and the Haas de Kevin Magnussen. At the bottom of the ranking, Williams emerged at almost four full seconds, George Russell ahead of Robert Kubica by a small tenth.

Now for the qualifications, which will begin at 18:00 p.m. local time, or 16:00 p.m. in France. As usual, the battle for pole position will be followed live with commentary on CARhebdo.fr via our live text.
