EL3 – Sebastian Vettel takes the lead

Sebastian Vettel set the best time before qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix in 1'12''572. He was ahead of his teammate Kimi Raikkonen by almost three tenths. There Mercedes de Lewis Hamilton was third at 0”354, less than four hundredths ahead Max Verstappen (Red Bull).

Valtteri Bottas ended the session in 5^e position six tenths from the leader. Nico Hulkenberg hoisted the Renault in sixth place in the same tenth as Felipe Massa and Daniel Ricciardo behind him.

Esteban Ocon (Force India) was relegated to more than a second behind Vettel in 9^e row in front Carlos Sainz Jr. (Toro Rosso) for the top 10. His teammate Daniil Kvyat was 11^e before Fernando Alonso (McLaren). Sergio Perez (Force India) was 13^e and was ahead Romain Grosjean (Haas) and Jolyon Palmer (Renault).

Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) was 16^e less than two tenths ahead Kevin Magnussen (Haas) and Lance stroll (Williams). The Saubers of Marcus Ericsson and Pascal Wehrlein completed the standings.
