Max Verstappen (Red Bull) continues on his merry way. The 20-year-old Dutchman remains undefeated on the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit from Montreal (Canada) after setting the best time in the last free practice sessions on Saturday in ideal weather.
The wearer of number 33, however, remained discreet for most of the session. It was only 12 minutes from the end that he set a lap in 1'11''599 with super soft tires (pink sidewalls).

Conversely, both Ferrari monopolized the lead from the first timed lap. Sebastian Vettel (2nd, +0''049) and Kimi Räikkönen (3rd, +0''051) have no fear before qualifying (start 20 p.m. French time) given their convincing pace.
The championship leader Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes, 4th) is also rather close to Max Verstappen (107 thousandths), but above all stood out from his rivals by preserving his sets of ultra soft tires (purple sidewalls) until the last quarter of an hour.
Victim of an unusual incident the day before, Romain Grosjean (Haas) this time had a quiet morning, enough to allow him to record the ninth time. The biggest surprise of the session is the positioning of Carlos Sainz Jr (Renault, 14th), where his partner Nico Hulkenberg finished 8th.
We'd like you to come in and lay some rubber down in the box please Nico…

Esteban Ocon (Force India) narrowly missed the Top 10, while Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso, 15th) gave almost three tenths back to his teammate Brendon Hartley (12e).
The qualifying session will start at 20 p.m. and will be to follow on our website AUTOhebdo.fr in live text.
