EL3: Vettel in front, Hülkenberg impresses

If Sebastian Vettel set a new best time, after EL2 of the F1 Grand Prix on the Circuit of the Americas, it was Nico Hülkenberg who stood out with the fourth fastest time.

At the end of the third free practice session in Austin, Hag clocked 1:36.733 to get ahead of his teammate Mark Webber again and Mercedes de Lewis Hamilton, author of his time (1:37.064) in the last seconds.

Nico Hulkenberg (1:37.272) was very quick at the end of the session with the fourth fastest time, one place better than the Frenchman Romain Grosjean (1:37.345). Button, Rosberg, Pérez, Bottas and Sutil complete the top 10.

After setting the best time in the first practice session, Fernando Alonso is only eleventh, more than a second behind Vettel (1:37.763) while his teammate Massa finishes in an anonymous seventeenth position (1:38.408). No major incidents were reported during this one-hour session.

Heikki Kovalainen making his debut with the Lotus team F1 set the thirteenth fastest time in 1:37.879. Besides Grosjean, the French Vergne, Pic, and Bianchi finished eighteenth, nineteenth and twenty-first respectively.
