The final practice session for the Chinese Grand Prix was not very competitive due to the rainy conditions which could also be expected for qualifying. Most of the drivers preferred to save their tires and stay in the pits. Only 14 cars finished with a time: the Mercedes, Haas or Red Bull have only completed a few rounds of installation.
Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) set the best time with a lap of the Shanghai circuit completed in 1’57”351, more than six tenths ahead of Valtteri Bottas (Williams) and more than a second on Sergio Pérez (Force India).
With nine laps on the clock, Kevin Magnussen (Renault) was the most diligent on the track. The Dane tested his new suspension following the latter's scrapyard this Friday.
Qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix will be contested from 9 a.m. and can be followed live on Canal+ Sport and with our live text on AUTOhebdo.fr.
