Pierre Gasly will set off far in the first Sprint of the 2025 season Formula 1, this Saturday in China. The French ofAlpine only set the 17th time in SQ1, beaten by his teammate Jack Doohan (16th). The Norman, who was hampered several times during his attempt, remains confident of scoring points in Sunday's race.
« Unfortunately we were not helped, declared Pierre Gasly on Canal + after getting off his car. I felt pretty good in the car, there was enough performance to go into the top 10. We made some good changes compared to Free Practice. Unfortunately, I lost four tenths in the first corner due to a Alpha Tauri (Racing Bulls. Editor's note) who was on the ropes coming out of the pits. I'm doing a decent lap and unfortunately we're not missing much to get past. »
« There is more grip on the track compared to last year, added the Habs. Overall, what we did was pretty good. It's frustrating when it happens like that. The first corner cost us dearly. We know we have the performance, we'll fight to get back on track. We'll focus on qualifying afterward to aim for a top 10 on Sunday. »
The sprint will start at 4:00 a.m. (French time) this Saturday morning. Qualifying for the Grand Prix will take place at 8:00 a.m.
